5 Acts Not To Miss

On Sunday 4th of March, Little Simz will be doing an all-day take over at the roundhouse. This will take place across 5 stages from 1pm- 11pm and will also include music, DJ’s, talks and visual art and food. During the day Reggie Yates will host a conversation between actor, activist and rapper, Riz Ahmed and home-grown, big screen star, Will Putler. So we at Warm and Easy, will take you through 5 acts not to miss on the day, if you are passing through.

Little Simz
Little Simz had to be on this list, not only is she the headliner of the day, but she is coming off the back of an incredible album in the shape of Stillness in Wonderland; so be sure to check out her performing it live and check out her latest cut from the tape, ‘Doorways+ Trust Issues’ below.

Rapsody is a remarkable rapper, who is breaking down barriers for a different type of female MC.  With the Grammy nominated Laila’s Wisdom, she proved that black women can be conscious rappers and still make significant strides in the music industry. She is someone that can’t be missed on the day,  so check out her phenomenal track ‘Power’ featuring Kendrick Lamar and Lance Skiiiwalker below.

Kojey Radical
Kojey Radical is an East London MC, who brings something very different to the scene. Not only is he an MC who can make turn up tracks to mosh pit to, but additionally he can give you songs which include themes of race, class, and justice and the young British poet is an artist you must check out on the day, if you have not seen him before. Listen to the politically charged track, ‘Footsteps’, below to get a taste of him.

A.G is a DJ you need to know about and with grime being a genre that is filled and headed by mostly male figures, female DJ’s such as her need more recognition. If she continues to constantly shell down clubs and radio sets A.G will soon get the recognition she deserves. She currently heads up the M’n’M show on NTS, spinning a fine selection of grime and club music. Check her out below, spinning some shelly beats for the one and only Novelist.

Lioness is a legend in grime and is definitely one of the scene’s premiere MCs. After being one of the top female spitters in grime’s early years, she took a long break from music in order to deal with things in her personal life. But thankfully she came back last year, releasing a grime banger in the shape of ‘Everything Mad’ and I promise you if you catch her on the day, her performance will well and truly be mad.
