Alqae’s Jonno AQ Shows His Contempt For The Competition On Boasy “More Time”

The South East London based rap group Alqae are one of Peckham’s best kept secrets as they demonstrated with last year’s debut The Surface propelling them into the UK Rap stratosphere. That project got them some warm reviews and radio play on a host of independent radio stations and displayed the trio’s confidence and individual qualities. Jonno in particular is one to watch with his confident nature, energy and nimble lifestyle raps. He is the last member of Alqae to release solo material this year following Floss and Jiggy Jim’s efforts. ‘More Time’ is an deft exercise in living your truth with flair while having the bars to back it up.

On a lavishly layered beat, Jonno switches his flow and comfortably rides the pockets of the beats up until his second verse, where he tells a passionate story about a young Pecky resident that takes losses to get delayed wins, flexing on his ten toes and overcoming haters that don’t wish him or his vision well. The video finds him on the block with with Alqae posse and we see him moving under the backdrop of the road signs and street lights.
