Sam Wise Steps Up With The Hazy Visuals For New Solo ‘Do Or Die’

As I’ve probably mentioned to you guys, House of Pharaohs are firing on all cylinders at the moment, showing their promise as a six strong collective and on an individual basis. One member of the group that isn’t an exception to that rule is Sam Wise. The Lil Wayne lookalike (don’t tell me you haven’t seen it) dropped previous heat on solo jaunts ‘Lizzie’ and ‘Rack Up’, and featured on fellow South Londoner Octavian’s ‘100 Degrees’. Now the eccentric rapper is back with a new track accompanied with visuals in the form of ‘Do or Die’.

Shot by Origin Red and co-directed by BKAS and Sam Wise himself, the video features cameos from the full HOP clique and pays homage to eighties cult classic Pulp Fiction. It reminds me of how Knucks sampled lead character Jules Winnfield for his ‘Big Kahuna Freestyle’, both instances of homage are very dope. Now back to this song; it’s a vibe with Sam Wise slow flow complementing the bop 4stringsz production provides. His flow might sound pedestrian at first, but it’s a testament to his versatility that he can switch flows, this sounds nothing like ‘Rack Up’ and it’s a welcome change. There’s no word on an official project from Sam Wise as yet but if this and the aforementioned songs are anything to go by, expect Sam Wise to have a good year.
